January 2013 Knowledge Newsletter
Dear Friends, We are now at the start of a new age and a New Year. December 21st brought a shift in the energy whether we can sense it or not. With this new energy, manifestation will occur more quickly. So why not use this new energy to create the life you really want. Many people start the year off with New Year resolutions that are abandoned within one month. Below are some tips to make sure this does not happen to you.
Creating Your Intentions
In order to bring your new year’s resolutions into manifestation, pretend you are sharing your story of what happened to you in 2013 on December 31, 2013, as if it has already happened and you are just remembering it. You can do this every night just as you are falling asleep and every morning when you wake up. You can make additions or alterations to the story as you wish. Make your story as detailed as possible.
The reason this process works is because our thoughts create our reality. So thinking about the future you want will bring that into manifestation. Also the more often you repeat your story, the faster it will manifest as where you put your energy is what manifests in life. Creating your story requires trust that it will manifest as you desire, so no sabotage please.
Pay attention to who is in your story? Have you replaced anyone currently in your life for others whose company you prefer, people who fulfill your needs and bring you joy? Have you preplaced any of your old bad habits like making judgments, needing to be in control, wanting everything to be perfect, feeling sorry for yourself, overeating or drinking, blaming others, and other limiting beliefs and habits with ones that empower you?
Think about the life you really want and don’t let negative thinking or old beliefs limit you. Pay attention to how you feel as you tell your story as it may bring to light emotions and feelings of which you are unaware. Being aware of your feelings at each point in your story allows you to change the script whenever that occurs.
Awareness is the first step to change so become aware of your thoughts, actions, words, feelings, and beliefs at all times. Recognizing and owning old patterns is the first step in creating change. The second step is deciding what you would like to replace them with and then putting these new beliefs and behaviors into action. Change can be scary as we are all creatures of habit but it can be done if the will is there. It requires realizing and trusting that you are a powerful creator and can create whatever you desire.
Are you living consciously or robotically? In your story, have you created new behaviors that allow you to feel more empowered such as standing up for what you believe, expressing your feelings and setting your boundaries? With this new energy, it is important that you live in the moment and do not make choices based on past experiences. The more of the past you can clear away, the better you will be. This way you will be making choices based on what you are facing today and not what happened years ago.
If you don’t know what to replace old habits or behaviors with, then create intentions listing what you want. You can also make a list of what you don’t want and then do the opposite, or you can write down what you don’t want and then through a process of elimination or trial and error, you will arrive at what you do want. Be crystal clear about what you want. Don’t worry about the HOW part as that is not your job. Your job is to be clear about your objectives and what you want the outcome to be.
Pay attention to how you like to spend your days that is being creative, reflective, productive, etc. Be the change you want to see in your life by actually being that change. Change starts one person at a time so why not let that person be you. The more you change, the more others around you will respond to your changes. Your changes will generally cause two reactions in others - flight or adaptation. Remember adaptation takes time so don’t give up if you don’t see immediate results. We are all powerful creators and everything we say and do has an effect upon those around us. Notice the affects you create in those around you. If you are unsure how you affect others, then ask for feedback.
As you tell your story, there will be things that come up like doubt, resistance, fear, unworthiness. As these concerns come up, change them right then and there. This is important or else you will be creating more of the same negative experiences. Notice when you are having these negative feelings or thoughts. Do they occur when you are alone or with others and specifically who? When these thoughts occur, say your affirmations right then instead of obsessing about what is not going right.
Retelling of your story helps you to focus on what is most important. This is not just making a list of a few things hoping that you achieve them in the coming year. This is really about beginning the process of actually taking charge of your life and manifesting exactly what you want. This is about creating awareness about what is stopping you from getting your desires fulfilled and receiving what you deserve. This is not a quick fix.
It can actually be fun and liberating to recreate your life even if you only take tiny steps ones at first. Persistence is essential along with the belief that it is possible to clear any resistance to blocks. Do not wait for things to change, take action and get the help you need to begin the process. Change is simple but not always easy. Letting go of the old comfortable habits and replacing them with new empowering habits won’t happen overnight, but it will happen. Make as many goals as you like but don’t try to accomplish all of them at once as that may be too overwhelming. Choose the ones that are easiest to accomplish first and build on success. It is very important to be open to receiving your heart’s desires.
The future is not supposed to look like your past but it will if you make no changes. The future you want can only occur when you change your perception, attitude, thoughts, feelings and behavior. Even if you like the life you have, I am sure there is always room for improvements. Remember you are the writer, director and actor in your life script. You are also a part of the Source or Creator. Once you are willing to accept this fact, your manifesting is just as unlimited as God’s
Just meditating on what you want won’t bring the change you want but it may help you to clear your mind. Praying, hoping or saying affirmations won’t completely do it either. It requires a willingness to let go of poverty consciousness, excess weight, fear of being alone, stress in any aspect of your life, a willingness to forgive or whatever is holding you back.
Remember all affirmations must always be in the present tense with many feeling adjectives. For example, don’t say “I don’t want to hang out with negative people”. Say “I am bringing only positive supportive, enriching, joyful, people into my life”. Your affirmations should start with “I am” and “I trust” instead of “I want” as you don’t want to be in wanting stage for the rest of your life.
Affirmations work if they are positive, are stated in the present tense and are repeated 100 times a day for four to six weeks or longer until there are no longer any resistance in your mind. Without frequent repetition they will not eliminate the old beliefs you have held so long in your subconscious mind. If you are unaware of the limiting beliefs you hold, just say “I love and accept myself completely just the way I am” and note if you hear any thoughts that are contrary to this statement. You can also identify your beliefs by looking at what is working and what isn’t in your life. What is showing up, what is lacking, and how do you respond to these situations.
Expand on your intentions by adding that they will happen in miraculous unimaginable ways far grander that anything you ever imagined. Then express gratitude before you even receive it. Being grateful even before your desires manifest is a great way to create more of what you want based on the Law of Gratitude. Also pay attention to how it feels to have what you desire.
Changing your life requires is discipline, determination, commitment and a willingness to take the time to pay attention to how you are feeling at any given time. The reason many self- help books do not work is because people do not do the work necessary to change their beliefs and give up too soon. So commit yourself to spending five to thirty minutes on creating, visualizing, affirming what you want to change, create and manifest in your life. Go to sleep with your intentions dancing in your mind and heart and while you sleep, your subconscious mind will take will help you to manifest your desires.
Some of you may say “I don’t have time for all of this nonsense”. Can you afford to not have the time? The Ego is clever and runs your life. It does not want you to give up limiting and negative beliefs so you really need to work on yourself diligently. The challenge is not to give in or settle for less than what you want. Acknowledge every time you make even the tiniest success. There may be times when resistance, doubts, fears, and old patterns of sabotage come up but just stick to what you want. If you need assistance through this process, partner up with someone you trust, who is objective or get coach who keeps you on track, is supportive and shares in your success.
You can write your story down in a 3 ring binder or on a computer and keep it handy. Since your story is a work in progress, you can add, delete, or embellish whenever you want. Create a theme for your 2013 story like Putting Myself First or Abundance 101. Use art work or a picture to symbolize your goals and intentions. If you intend to make many changes, you can categorize your story with headings such as spiritual or personal growth, personal care, physical fitness, family relationships, money manifestation, recreation and creative outlets, social contributions, victories, etc. Don’t feel guilty about wanting an extraordinary life even if your friends do not have one.
