New Year Intentions
The New Year has arrived and I hope it was ushered in with lots of good cheer. This is a good time to set your intentions for the coming year. Setting intentions is like making a blueprint for your life. Our thoughts create our reality so setting your intentions or thoughts helps you to manifest your desires.
A good way to do this is to write down all your intentions and then seal them in an envelope. Either set them aside in the bottom of some drawer, or give them to a trusted friend and ask them to return them to you at the end of 2006. When you write down your intentions, start each sentence with “I intend”. For example, I intend to find a new job or I intend to have a new life partner.
Another way to way to do this is to say “I am grateful” for my new job or my new life partner, as if you are thanking God already for manifesting what you want in life.
At the end of 2006, take out your intentions or gratitude statements and look them over. See how many things on your list have manifested. If they have all not manifested, perhaps you need to ask if they were for your highest good, if you really wanted those things, or if the timing was not right for them to manifest.
What Will 2006 Bring?
I see that 2006 may be another year of turmoil with the spread of the bird virus and other diseases, but at the same time, I sense that there are many people who are awakening and seeing things in a different light. These new perceptions can bring peaceful change into your lives or chaos, depending on how they are handled.
I invite you to take this opportunity to create the year you want. No only through writing down your intentions but by remembering to keep love in your heart and to be accepting of those you know and strangers you meet. Just as you desire to be loved and accepted, so do they. Whatever we give out is what returns to us, so make sure you are sending out what you would like to receive.
Meditation to Discover Yourself
To help you discover review where you are and where you have been on your path of spiritual growth been, I am offering this meditation.
Find yourself a comfortable place to sit or lie down where you will not be disturbed. Close all cell phones, pagers or other electronic equipment. Make any small movements to make yourself comfortable.
Close your eyes and breathe in slowly and deeply through your nose, holding it a few seconds, and then letting your breathe out slowly through your mouth. Continue breathing deeply and slowly in this manner, breathing in to the count of five through your nose, holding, and breathing out to the count of five through your mouth, allowing yourself to go deeper and deeper into relaxation. Continue breathing this way for several minutes or until you feel totally relaxed.
When you are completely relaxed, imagine yourself walking along a path in a sunny, a flower filled meadow. You can hear the birds singing, feel a gentle breeze against your face, feel the warmth of the sun on your skin, and can smell the scent of the wild flowers. You feel completely at ease, safe, and one with nature in this place.
Now invite your Higher Self to join you today. You know that you can trust your Higher Self completely as he or she is a part of you and loves you unconditionally. Take a moment to see or sense the presence of your Higher Self.
Now the meadow starts to slope upward, gently at first and then a little more steeply. You easily manage the climb. You are anxious to get to the top because this is where the search for who you really are will begin. When you reach the top of the hill, you can see some small rocks scattered here and there along with numerous large trees and even some rocks large enough to sit on.
As you look around you notice that here and there are little sign posts with arrows pointing to a direction you should follow. You can sense your Higher Self around you and you just know that he or she is here to help you discover information you are unaware of or may have forgotten about yourself.
You start towards the first sign post and you follow the direction the arrow is pointing until you come to a special shaped rock where you find a note peeking out from the far side with some feelings you hold about yourself and other. This note may be reminding you of something you are shamed or afraid of or any other feelings. You put the note in your pocket and look for the next sign post.
The arrow points to a large tree and hidden in the roots you find another note. This note reminds you of how proud you are of your accomplishments and successes. You continue to follow the signs until you have collected all the notes.
Now you are feeling a little weary and you find a large rock to sit upon. Here you examine all the notes you have found. You feel comfortable and safe sharing all this information with your Higher Self. It feels good to remember all these feelings, promises, and decisions you have made in the past. Perhaps you have forgotten how afraid you were back then and how much you have grown since that time.
You take the time to read the notes again realizing how much you have grown these past few years. You feel ready to let go of those negative emotions, the hurt and the pain you experienced. You feel ready to forgive yourself and anyone else who you felt had hurt or betrayed you at some time. . If there are still some things you are not ready to let go of yet, you can put those notes back in your pocket to be deal with at later date.
When you are finished, you realize you can let go to these notes as you no longer need them. You can let them fly away in the wind or burn them. Once their contents have been deal with, you feel much lighter as if a burden has been lifted from your shoulders
You now retrace your steps back down the hill and through the meadow to where you began. You thank your Higher Self for his or her assistance and unconditional love and acceptance that he or she has given you. When you are ready, you can open your eyes and bring your awareness back into the room. You awake feeling refreshed and much lighter for your experience.
